Lyrics
Verse 1: The Lord’s my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? My strength in ev’ry situation; He’ll always hear. Tho’ foes may rise to trouble me, And war and pestilence I see, Full confident I’ll always be; They can’t come near.
Verse 2: O, Lord, one thing would I desire, To dwell with Thee; And sing in that great heav’nly choir, Thy beauty see. Then shall my head be lifted up, Sweet joy shall overflow my cup, And at Thy table I will sup Eternally.
Verse 3: And when I hear Thee softly calling, “Seek ye My face.” Perchance the way may seem appalling, Yet will I haste. And this my pray’r shall ever be, Tho’ friends have all forsaken me, Cause me, O, Lord, Thy face to see, Shining with grace.
Verse 4: Teach me Thy way, O, Lord, forever, To walk each day. And with Thy help I will endeavor therein to stay. If I Thy goodness had not seen, Fainted away I long had been, But now upon Thee I will lean, Let come what may.
