Lyrics
Verse 1: The master gave five talents to one servant who had ability to do his will. The servant used the talents for his master, and gained five talents more with work and skill. The master said, “Well done, my faithful servant. From just a few things you have earned some more. Now I will let you care for things much greater. Come enter in the glory of your Lord.”
Verse 2: The master gave two talents to one servant who had ability to do his will. The servant used the talents for his master, and gained two talents more with work and skill. The master said, “Well done, my faithful servant. From just a few things you have earned some more. Now I will let you care for things much greater. Come enter in the glory of your Lord.”
Verse 3: The master gave one talent to one servant who had ability to do his will. The servant hid the talent for his master, and in the ground he kept the talent still. The master said, “You, wicked, lazy servant. Your talent would have grown if you had tried. So take away the talent as I send you away to weep in darkness far and wide.”
Verse 4: The master told his servants he was leaving to travel far away and then return. The master trusted servants with his talents. Before the master comes what will we learn? We pray he says, “Well done, my faithful servant. From just a few things you have earned some more. Now I will let you care for things much greater. Come, enter in the glory of your Lord.”
