Verse 1: When the Father above saw the children He loved who were hopelessly lost in sin, He sent Jesus His Son, there was no other one who could give the world hope again. Jesus gave up His throne, left His heavenly home, to experience life as man; asking “What must I do to be pleasing to You?” and the Father said to His Son, “Take up Your cross. Verse 2: The example He gave was to show us the way as we go thru our daily life. We must listen to Him, turn away from our sin, and embrace Him with all our might. Jesus gave the command, not an optional plan, if you love Him you must obey. Ask Him, “What must I do to be pleasing to You?” and the Father still says today, “Take up your cross. (Take up your cross, follow Jesus.) Take up your cross. (Take up your cross, follow Jesus.)
