In days of Pharoah’s reign supreme The faithful followed God’s commands; They were prepared to be redeemed From Pharoah’s unrelenting hand.

In days of darkness came a beam; John called his faithful countrymen. They were prepared to be redeemed From Satan’s wicked pow’r of sin.

Now ev’ry week we can partake, Preparing to remember Christ; The cup we drink, the bread we break Remind us of His sacrifice.

And when someday this life is o’er, ‘Twill be a day of joyfulness; We’ll be prepared for heaven’s shore; A gift of God’s own faithfulness.
