Verse 1: When our faithful life is over, We’re prepared for judgment day; With strong hope we’ll cross death valley, “Come ye blessed,” our Lord will say.
Verse 2: Here our feeble frame is tortured, As our pains come day and night; Then the reaper’s call is welcome, For that home so fair and bright.
Verse 3: Do not say “land of the living,” Death each day so many will call; We must leave this land of dying, To gain rest and peace for all.
Verse 4: Here we struggle with temptations, The way out our God will provide. “Death is swallowed up in vict’ry,” Heaven’s bright light at His side.
Chorus: Thank You Lord for grace and mercy; Your precious Son our debt did pay; Tho’ we’re sinful and unworthy, Still You’ll forgive when we obey.
