Verse 1: The disciples were afraid in the billows of the deep as their boat was tossed about, and the Lord had lain asleep. Jesus rose and stilled the waves. The disciples were amazed. Jesus knew they had to trust their Lord’s way, like the times I need to hear my Father say, “Hold on, Hold on.”
Verse 2: Lord, my spirit is renewed. With my lips I sing Your praise, for You wash me as the snow. From my sins, You hide Your face. Clean my heart, my Lord, I pray. Search for any sinful way. From Your presence, cast me never away. Ev’ry day, my Lord, I long to hear You say, “Hold on, Hold on.”
Verse 3: When I hear Your trumpet sound and I meet You in the air, Lord, transform my body here to Your glorious body there. Father, I await the day when the heavens pass away. That will be my final step of the way. Until then, I’m stronger ev’ry time You say, “Hold on, Hold on.”
Chorus: I will listen to my Lord, as I press toward the goal, even when my journey home seems so long, so long. I can go anywhere when my dear Lord is there.
